After a hiatus, There Are No Nice Guys is back with this Season 5 premiere episode. The goal remains to make your dating life better.
That’s easier said than done, right? How do you accomplish such a feat when date after date ends in disappointment?
What to Expect in Episode 36
Believe it or not, there are lots of things you can do to make your dating life better. Here are some things I have tried, which I talk about in this episode:
- Take a break from dating. Taking a break from dating is like taking a deep breath and a mental vacation. Sometimes you just need to step away from the situation to assess it.
- Talk to a therapist. I knew two things: my dating life was bad and I was the common denominator. That meant only I could improve it. That’s when I went to a therapist. One of the biggest things I learned was that the center of my problems was not dating life. It was more about my own internal issues.
- Raise your standards and hold out. Seriously, once you level up your standards, you’ll never deal with another douchebag again. I promise.
“The nice guy” is a trope. I talk about that in this podcast’s very first episode. There are no nice guys, but there are GREAT men. I know because I dated one recently. It didn’t work out, but not because he was a douchebag or because I was too afraid to be vulnerable.
Sometimes, things just don’t work out, but meeting him and dating him was the sign I needed. So long as I keep my standards high and never settle for less, I can meet and date great men. You can, too.
